sans sous-titres will be performed at Resonance against Routes.
Siri S. Eide is an Oslo-based composer, who has mostly worked with instrumental music, but also has a great interest in electroacoustic music and video. She has a background in physics and mathematics, and worked as a computer scientist for several years, before enrolling at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Siri's music often explores the contrast between stillness and motion, and the juxtaposition of textural elements and melody.

sans sous-titres

This piece explores the idea of very abstract textures and point materials, meeting more melodic lines. The strings explode in an intense, frenetic opening, before stepping back, setting the stage for the clarinet to enter. But instead of matching the energy of the strings, the clarinet brings its own character to the piece. Over the following minutes, the contrasting materials bend to each other’s will and meld into new constellations.
