Ställberg
Ställbergs gruva is an old mine but nowadays an artist-run platform for developing and presenting artistic works, run by the art group The non existent Center (TNEC). TNEC often works on common issues with transparency between different fields of work, languages and experiences.The work in Ställberg is described as a performative social survey in the personal, local and global, where the past time and present condition in society can be understood through longer and ongoing artistic, social and psychology processes. In the group there are persons with a background in, among others, art, music, design, direction, choreography, philosophy, human ecology, architecture, carpentry, energy engineering, psychology, human geography, writing and gastronomy.
TNEC is supporting a wide group of young or established artists from different art fields and has since 2012 produced, co-produced and presented stage art works, arranged thematic festivals, symposiums, residence and talks etc.
In 2024, UNM and Ställbergs gruva are having a collaboration which is enforced via a residency program. The residency composers have developed their work during the spring 2024 in Ställbergs gruva, and their pieces and installations are created especially for the mining venues and areas. On Friday the 23rd of August 2024 their work is presented at the mine, amongst other UNM pieces. Please note that the event is free, but you’ll have to register by sending an email to biljett@stallbergsgruva.se.
