Fimm svipmyndir af hafinu will be performed at Harmonies by Horizons.
Þórbergur Bollason is a composer, teacher, pianist, and conductor. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in composition from the Iceland University of the Arts (IUA) in 2023 where he learned with Atli Ingólfsson and has since been composing by commission. Since last fall Þórbergur has been learning piano performance and pedagogy at IUA under the tutelage of Peter Maté and Edda Erlendsdóttir, and rhythmic piano performance with Sunna Gunnlaugs. Þórbergur has additionally studied conducting with Gunnsteinn Ólafsson and Magnús Ragnarsson at IUA. He has conducted public performances of both chamber and choir music, notably a performance of his own piece “Fimm svipmyndir af hafinu” with the Huldur chamber choir. Þórbergur is a member of the 2024 Conductors-academy of the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra.

Fimm svipmyndir af hafinu

Fimm svipmyndir af hafinu is a five part piece for choir, centered around contemplations of the sea.
