Intense mouth Sounds will be performed at Sonics across Shifts.
Archangelica is the assumed name of the Icelandic composer Diljá Bjarmadóttir (based in Denmark). Archangelica weaves intricate layers of sound that transport listeners to a realm of darkness and light. Focusing on the clash of the organic and the mechanical, and cooperation between nature and spirituality, her music is at once melancholic and deeply emotional. The result is a profoundly personal journey in the form of a transcendental live set that speaks to the soul.

Intense mouth Sounds

Intense mouth Sounds is the composers homage to their love/hate relationship to ASMR. The listener is presented with unpleasant ASMR sounds that invades their personal space and are too close for comfort. The voice starts out with almost controlling and condescending instructions on how the listener should behave, that slowly morphs into a motherly nurturing role as the sounds around it shift from massive distorted soundscapes to intimate keys and insect sounding aluminium foil, making reference to the calming sounds of cicadas at dusk.
